raindrops.

Standard

‘There are a finite number of times we get to do anything and after the first time it’s a count. We only get to look at the sky so many times in a life. There are a finite number of rainstorms and seasons that we’ll witness, and the number seems so big until it doesn’t. We never know when will be the last time we taste something or see someone or do anything at all. And for all the money in the world, time is not for sale no matter what the doctors say when we beg for more of it toward the end, finally seeing that we forgot to count the raindrops.’

  1. A truly magnificent quote/statement by Cory Richards …

“Dancing In The Rain, (an Epigram)

    In one way or another
    After leaving our mothers
Life delivers us to love and pain
    While dancing in the rain”

  2. Years and years ago a friend used to call me often – not daily – but too often. And then she stopped and I found out she couldn’t anymore. We don’t know what/when “the last time” will be. With recent events in my life I don’t know if it is healthy/wise to live like “this is the last time”. And so I didn’t. One doesn’t bargain with time.

  3. Very poignant indeed. I learned to enjoy the moment, whether sunny or rainy, calm or stormy. They all have their beauty (in case they are not threatening). Thanks for this reminder, Beth.

  4. Such a beautiful post, Beth.

We had a massive freezing rain storm last night and all I could think of on my walk home was how annoying this was. Your post helps me reflect on that experience in a different light!
