it’s an old connection – Writings from the 17th century in Germany describe the “Oschter Haws” (Easter hare) for the first time. According to folklore, the Easter hare would lay colorful eggs in the nests (baskets) of well behaved children. German immigrants brought this tradition of the Easter Bunny to the United States in the 18th century.
I knew I should have followed that bunny I saw outside my garage Saturday morning. He failed to leave any treats for me. I hope you got your Cadbury egg.
Love that old image. Bunny lancers riding chickens makes me wonder what those artists were smoking back then!
Best wishes, Pete.

The postcard’s palatial and presumptuous parade is precious and plucky, Beth

I forwarded this to a friend with the comment that those bunnies look pretty serious! She sent me this link to “Medieval killer rabbits: when bunnies strike back” (warning! some violent bunnies here). https://blogs.bl.uk/digitisedmanuscripts/2021/06/killer-rabbits.html
