‘even a wounded world is feeding us.
even a wounded world holds us,
gives us moments of joy & wonder.
i choose joy over despair, not because i have my head in the sand,
but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and i must return it.’

Happy Earth Day! I listened to the audio version of “Braiding Sweetgrass,” narrated by the author, and it’s such a gentle and wise book 🌞

The neglected bench looks sad, but at least it is decomposing back to whence it came.
Best wishes, Pete.

I love the bench and it’s setting, so quiet and beautiful, and I’m hoping it continues its journey back into the earth. not far from my house in beautiful woods –

Oh, such a wonderful quote. The Earth does give so much joy. It is the least that we do our part to say thank you and show our appreciation.

Such a good quote to remember any day, but especially on Earth Day. Did you ever have “Earth Shoes?” I’m not quite sure what they had to do with the earth, except for the time period in which they came out and because your feet connect to the earth.

Great quote. Always makes sense to focus on the beauty of Earth and how we should preserve that for future generations.

I feel the joy!
I try. I recycle, reuse and repair. I make Art Gowns out of all old stuff. I’m a vegetarian, have a small garden, simple needs, don’t own a car, walk mostly or take public transit.
Still, I don’t feel I’m putting back, but I do feel not taking much out.
