Eurovision, the annual international song competition run by the European Broadcasting Union, kicked off earlier this week. So far, 16 acts are confirmed for Saturday’s final, including Sweden’s KAJ — pictured above and among the favorites to win. I cannot stand Eurovision, and I never understood why Israel, Russia, Turkey, and Australia were allowed to enter a European song contest. I will happily ignore the whole thing until it is over.

Yes, it’s really popular here, and people have parties to watch the final. I have just always found it to be very silly. 😊

I don’t need to understand the words to know it’s a hit. In fact most hit songs the words make no sense! We just sense they are great.
