Ivor, lately (last few months) I only ever get a black rectangle instead of your links…. not even a sign saying ‘watch on YT’ – so maybe you’d be kind enough to add the link in a way that I can copy it and view separately? I know I asked you before but it just mightn’t work on my iPad and that’s where I view the notifications. TY
On our recent trip to Florida I noticed a “Road Ends” sign in a place where that was obvious and no driver could have continued. It reminds me of notices attached to commercials for medicines: “Do not take X is you’re allergic to X or any of its ingredients.” Duh.
It reminds me of the Lord of the Rings where Frodo talks about what Bilbo once said to him: ‘He used to often say there was only one Road; that it was like a great river : its springs were at every doorstep, and every path was its tributary. “It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door,” he used to say. “You step into the Road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to. Do you realize that this is the very path that goes through Mirkwood, and that if you let it, it might take you to the Lonely Mountain or even further and to worse places?” He used to say that on the path outside the front door at Bag End, especially after he had been out for a long walk.’
I can put up with annoying construction if it had clever signage such as that. Was introduced to Silverstein in grade 3 and such a great poet and writer. The Giving Tree still gets me to this day.
…. and so well thought out, when nearest crosswalk is right there where the sidewalk ends!

They really went the extra mile with that sign, adding the drawing and the literary reference. Nice job!
Best wishes, Pete.

This is so fun, a nice change from the standard basic sign. Made me smile at the thought of that book.
