*Thomas Paine was an English-born American political activist, author, and revolutionary. He is best known for his influential pamphlets, particularly Common Sense which advocated for American independence from Great Britain during the Revolutionary War. His writings helped to shape the political ideologies of the time and inspired both the American and French Revolutions.

  1. I hope you can manage to celebrate, if just for the country, not the current administration. I have faith that the USA will endure, it just needs to fully wake up to what is going on. Punish them in the mid-terms!
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. We were blessed by some very wise men many years ago, but remember they, too, were pushing the envelope of their time. Enjoy your independence day celebration. I am at the lake with my family and going to enjoy a day with them and squeezing in some food and fireworks. Going to make the day count.

  3. As sad as things are in the country right now, I’m buoyed by the kind and generous people I encounter each day who promote peace, take care of our planet, and look out for one another.

  4. I love Chihuly’s glass art! There is a magnificent structure at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia that spans two stories in the center of the building. It was the first time I saw his glass art. Wow!
