while recently at my friend’s lake house
we made this beautiful puzzle
of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
she purchased during her recent visit to the northern regions
beautifully made of wood, precision cut, and challenging
but together we managed to complete the puzzle
except
for one piece
that I tried to jam in
I broke it
our ‘gluer’ didn’t put it back together quite right
so we accepted that it was finished without it
but I felt bad
so I wrote to the company
to see if they could possibly replace the piece
I took photos of it and where it was supposed to be
always worth a shot
the artist who made the puzzle
also the company owner
said she would replace it
(talk about customer service!)
I thanked her
excitedly waited for the piece to arrive
within days it showed up at my house
what should arrive at my house
all the way from the upper peninsula
but an entire puzzle
at no charge
from the artist herself
as her and her husband
are the small business owners
of their own family owned company
she is a Ukranian artist
who makes the puzzles
among many other things
he is an American veteran
I was so amazed by their kindness
that I’d like to publicly thank them here
by sharing a connection to their business
I will certainly buy puzzles from them myself
thank you again for reminding me
that there are wonderful people out there in the world
and for your beautiful work

Wow! It is a beautiful puzzle! And such great customer service!!! I love wooden puzzles. I still have two that I received when 2-4 years old, of course smaller than this one. And for sure, there are many wonderful people in the world, and I highly suspect you are one of those! I loved this post. Have a wonderful day!

I went to their website, and was browsing through the items they sell when I saw the perfect gift for my brother and his girlfriend. They met while on vacation in Iceland to see the Northern lights. When were together we play pinochle, but when their by themselves they play cribbage (and other games I’m sure). So, when I saw a Northern Lights Cribbage board, I knew it was the perfect gift for them. Thanks for informing me about this great company.

I agree that was very nice, replacing a puzzle piece. It deserved your shout out. So many companies have poor customer service but not this one.

My cousin would agree. I haven’t done one of the wooden ones but I’m sure the feel of them is quite different from the ones we usually do.

When a business goes the extra mile for a customer, I think it usually pays off in the end. Consider how many people we tell whenever we have a good or poor experience.

what a truly heart-warming experience. wonderful. proves to show how great most ppl are when we ask nicely.
i had a ‘similar’ joy yesterday. invited a friend for lunch and we talked about the glorious cone shaped white hydrangeas forming a hedge of the garden. i said to my friend: i wish i could have 3 of the blooms because they’d fit nicely with what i have planned for the altar decoration for next Sunday…. dare i asking?
i went in and dared. the woman serving immediately said: i couldn’t allow that to everyone but you may and she took out a pair of scissors from under the counter and sent me ‘cutting’. i’m SO thankful for such small kindnesses.

oh, you’re right, it’s always worth asking, and some people are just so kind to do these extra favors. I know exactly the flowers you are describing too, and they are so pretty
