Shroyer’s defense for robbing a bank – “The cat made me do it.”
He was apprehended a little later when he lost control of the car he was driving and was hit by pursuing law enforcement. Shroyer told police that the cat told him to do all of those things. Shroyer received jail time and the cat did not receive a sentence.

Was worried about you… you were late this morning with your post. I thought the world was off its axis for the moment. Good thing you solved the crime. Stay well. Peace.

who could blame a poor innocent kittie? was the missing debra ever found? what happened to her food?
glad you had a good time.

they refused to give the food to anyone else and she was not put up on the missing persons board, so I’m guessing yes !

glad to hear she didn’t make that list

Funny, the most my cats have made me do is get off the couch (not always willingly) to feed them. At most, they would be arrested for not letting a resting human sit and falsifying extreme hunger.

People get away with crimes every day, but it’s true that criminals can be very stupid.

I don’t know – care and feeding of those cats in the way they require is expensive!

Blaming the cat may not work. I don’t know much about crime but it seems like criminals are often not very smart people. I’ve read about the bank robber who covered his face in invisible ink because he thought that would prevent the cameras from taking pictures of his face. Or the bank robber who used his business card to write a message for the cashier, and then left the business vard behind. The police was waiting for him at his apartment when he came home. I think the best one was the Norwegian bank robbers who got their idea from the Beagle Boys in Duck Tales. Just steal a front-end loader tractor and drive it right through the wall of the bank, load the safe, and then drive off. The maximum speed of the tractor was 20 miles per hour. The police chase was pretty lame.

Sadly, I would go to jail for my cat, if she robbed a bank. I would said that I did it, so she could stay free and sleep on my bed. 🐈⬛ I’m so hoping you tell us about your Crime weekend and what it was like.

Hmm, I may have just found the inspiration for my next blog post. I recently was an alternate on a jury. I respect the process, but it’s crazy how little gets done over the course of four days.
