nothing like making coffee for the whole tiny hotel
because you wake up first
since the sign in paradise asks you to .
the little campground store in grand marais
has pretty relaxed hours
perhaps you might even find it open sometime
when you stop by.

I love how the clock has no hands, because time doesn’t really matter there.

beth, would you be kind enough and write down the ‘rules of making coffee’ as I cannot read the photos. If not, no problem either. won’t hold it against you :)

Kiki, if you click on the photo and then click again, the sign blows up super clear :) Not so much on the sign outside the store, though ;-)

Dale, thank you, it’s the outdoor sign I also couldn’t decipher though. ON my phone where I read the post first, nothing could be read…
It’s nice that you helped me with the brewing bit!

I couldn’t either! Glad I could help with the little bit.

Looks like a very relaxed time, Beth. The clock with no hands made me chuckle. Now that’s a way to unwind without the constraints and pressure of a schedule.

It was great and they had a bulletin board of handwritten notes and drawings from people, including kids who stayed there, thanking them.

I love the Upper Peninsula. Everything seems to slow down and people are much more relaxed. :)

Delightful! I aim to be easygoing, but sometimes too much coffee trips me up. That and politics…

Hi Beth
Don’t want to interrupt your break in Paradise but when you have a moment could you email me at bridget at bridgetwhelan.com. I would like to send you a copy of Mrs Finnegan’s Guide to Love, Life & Laxatives. You have so such an encouraging supporter I know Mrs F would want you to have it.

Something a tad askew about reaching Paradise and being expected to cafeinate all its inhabitants! :)

for me, it was part of the relaxed and friendly charm of the place, but I do see your point, the coffee should just flow freely )

I was in Grand Marais, MN, many years ago, but not sure I ever made it to its MI cousin. Regardless, being on the shores of Lake Superior is so peaceful, I need to get up there again.
