‘calendars and clocks exist to measure time, but that signifies little because we all know that an hour can seem an eternity or pass in a flash, according to how we spend it.’

Oh no, it’s not ‘Daylight Saving Time’ again, Beth … I’ll be able to catch up now …

The Dandelion clocks are a lovely image, Beth. I did that blowing as a child.
Best wishes, Pete.

As the New York Times reported in 1929:
Numerous anecdotes are being circulated concerning Einstein. He once told a girl secretary when she was bothered by inquisitive interviewers, who wanted to know what relativity really meant, to answer:
“When you sit with a nice girl for two hours you think it’s only a minute, but when you sit on a hot stove for a minute you think it’s two hours. That’s relativity.”

I really don’t get it.
We cannot gain time at all..
Our clocks went back last week..

Pacific Standard Time for the next several months. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be in Mountain Time for two weeks and then back home. I get time zones, but adjusting the time within them is odd.

yes, we’ve had daylight saving in South Australia — not all States have it — for decades now; it suits us —

yes; it’s disruptive at first but it’s better than being woken at 5.30 by streaming sunlight —

Thought I’d fixed all the clocks last night, but messed up with the coffeemaker! And first thing in the morning is the worst possible time to be trying to figure it out. Finally got my coffee, but it was a lousy way to start the day.

Wow, trying to do it without coffee is just cruel

Time is…
Too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love,
Time is…
Eternity.
Days fly,
Flowers die,
Pass by…
Love Stays.

I don’t like this time of the year when clocks fall back an hour. Evening darkness falls so much quicker and I do find it affects my overall mood. I can’t wait for Spring again soon!

So true that time can fly or crawl. Or be perplexing. I woke up Sunday morning and saw that my cell phone told me a different time than the microwave’s clock. What?? Took me several moments to realize it’s that time to set the clocks back! Whew. And it’s a kind of time travel for an hour to repeat itself in the early early morning. Maybe the bats and owls can tell us stories about it?
