  1. I have no siblings, so my cousins were the nearest thing when I was younger. I have a dozen or more still alive, and we try to meet up when we can. Only one of them is older than me, so we have become the ‘seniors’.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. What’s blessing that is… we live far from family, so I don’t see my brother’s kids or my wife’s siblings kids very often. I remember my mom‘s 80th birthday when I took my daughter to Texas for the weekend. She got to see all of her Texas cousins and and connected with the two cousins who were closest to her and age. I remember what she said to me when we got back on the plane to go home, “can we come back next year?” What a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! Thank you for sharing. Peace.

  3. That must have been a fun thing for you to witness, Beth. I wish I lived closer to my cousins. The nearest one is more than 1,000 miles away. I’m almost the youngest of the crew, so I’m closer to the ones nearer my age.

  4. One of the benefits of aging is watching the younger family members grow into adults. My 14 year old granddaughter is now taller her than her 25 year old sister. Sharing pictures of them together from 12 years ago is quite a visual shock.

  5. Sometimes cousin relationships are stronger than siblings and longer lasting I believe. Could be because they aren’t together long enough to fight or share jealousies?? Is that at your house Beth? Is that your aquarium? Chris

    • This could be true. These cousins are all my grandchildren so the next generation of cousins. They all live fairly close together, though the older they’ve gotten the harder is to get them all together. The house is not mine. It’s a good friend of mine who lent it to me while she is in Ireland, visiting her family. I am using it because it is a bigger house in which to host Thanksgiving. It was a win-win situation.
