‘a day without sunshine is like, you know, night.’-steve martin

Standard

it’s official, the astronomical start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere (vernal equinox) occurs today, March 20, at 10:46 a.m. EDT. At this moment, the sun crosses the celestial equator, providing nearly equal amounts of day and night across the globe. -Farmers’ Almanac

Just in time,  La Croix has a SUNSHINE flavor of sparkling water. Can anyone tell me what sunshine might taste like? Here’s what La Croix has to say about it, but I’m not sure it’s really any clearer.

pastedGraphic.pngLaCroix Launches Sunshine . . . “The Deliciously Fascinating Taste of WONDER! A refreshing, guilt-free drink that captures the warmth, joy, and sparkle of a ray of sunshine. It’s bright, the essence of a sun-kissed day in every sip.”

Hmmm… still not sure what that taste might be, anyone have an idea?

always bring your own sunshine. ‘

      • When it comes to asking what an abstract thing is, it’s a matter of mapping characteristics of the abstract to elements of human experience. The pleasure of physical warmth at an appropriate time is made to match with the characteristics of a warm person. In short, that’s what metaphors do. Also, a person can be a flower — “she is a rose without any thorns”. And from the song: “She is my sunshine, my only sunshine| she makes me happy when skies are gray” [“You Are My Sunshine”, Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell, 1939-1940]. Ooops, I looked it up and it’s actually a very sad song in the complete lyrics.
