’tis the season of graduations, transitions and celebrations

when people

little and big

complete their

middle school, high school, college, post-grad

school years

they will be asked

many times

what do you want to do next?

most do not yet have an answer

or

will come up with

whatever comes to mind

they just need a minute

to take a breath

look back

at what they’ve done

enjoy the moment

exactly where they are

just a little bit longer

‘Say Anything,’ (1989) is my favorite teen rom-com-drama movie

the movie follows the romance between Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack), an average student, and Diane Court (Ione Skye), the class valedictorian, immediately after their graduation from high school.

 in 2002, Entertainment Weekly named Say Anything the best modern romance film, and in 2012, ranked it number 11 on its list of the “50 Best High School Movies.”

  2. I really didn’t know what I wanted to do … I became an Industrial Chemist, but in my heart I wanted to be a Plumber like my dad … circumstances and situations changed when I was 28, and all of a sudden I was a Plumber working with my dad …

  3. I think I only wanted to be a wife and a mother but not allowed to say , I lived my studies in university and being lucky to get good jobs after it and kept going till I decided it was time to follow my heart without shame. So I miss my career , at times, but only briefly😉

  4. I started out wanting to be a History teacher, and that didn’t happen. Drifted into and out of various jobs until I was 27, then decided to become an EMT. I did that for over 22 years, then worked for the police for 12 years until I retired. So only two jobs from 27-60, and neither of them were what I had originally intended to do.

  24. T has his Grade 5 graduation ceremony this Thursday. Thank you for this timely reminder to sit still and be present and enjoy the moment. I really needed this today! 😊
