serial plant killer redemption.

Standard

did it!

 kept a house plant alive

long enough

(three whole weeks almost)

for it to bloom and thrive!

(okay, so it didn’t need dirt or water, but who cares about the details?)

way up high

away from the felines

away from the over/under water-er

away from the over/under feeder

away from over/under attention-giver

and there it is

my curse is broken

swear my thumb is looking a bit green.

‘did i ‘kill a plant’ or did a plant not thrive in this fast-paced environment?’

milkweed.

“the milkweed pods are breaking,

and the bits of silken down

float off upon the autumn breeze

across the meadows brown.”

from the garden to the heart.

using locally foraged plants, artist kayla powers
taught us to make our own botanical watercolor paints
not a quick process
with many steps along the way
what an incredible experience
from the garden and the forest, to the art, to the heart.

be water.

Standard

when all are watering the plants at the same time,

while facing each other,

let’s do the probability math.

“be water, my friend.”

Standard

mushrooms are one of my absolute favorite foods

and it’s soon time for the elusive morels to appear

luckily i have this handy chart to help.

no time to write more

i’m off to find a sasquatch den.

“on the subject of wild mushrooms, it is easy to tell who is an expert and who is not:

the expert is the one who is still alive.”
