a recent local happening:
2 customers came in and ordered pretzels from a chain store located in the mall. after they left, one noticed she had been given the wrong dipping sauce. when they returned to the store, they were told they would have to pay for a new dip because they had eaten part of the other one. they began arguing and later told police an employee had thrown nacho cheese dip at them. one of the women and a mall cop were hit in the face and chest with nacho cheese. the women then tried to climb over the counter, a ‘scuffle’ broke out, and the nacho cheese machine was knocked over and broke.
in response to this incident, the company offered a ‘free dipping sauce day’ at all of its 12 locations in an effort to make things right after the brawl. the ceo of the company issued an apology and traveled to the store to provide ‘extensive guest service training’ to its employees to ensure a similar situation would not occur again.

Do servers not know he phrase “the customer is right”. The cost of a dipping sauce is so smal in relation to keeping good will.

apparently not, which is why they are undergoing ‘extensive customer service’ training )

Good for the employee for standing his/her ground. I’m sure they’ll be able to stand tall as they go to pick up their unemployment check.

I agree that dipping sauce is great, but I don’t think I would start a brawl over it! People tend to get out of control so easily nowadays. It makes one afraid to complain about things.

or be ready to jump over the counter and knock over the nacho cheese machine at a moment’s notice )

Goodness. All that fuss and a nacho cheese dip machine is cut down in its prime. I can’t imagine the scene if they were arguing over spicy mustard dip.

If I was the employee I would scream, “That’s not-cho cheese!” before throwing the cheese sauce at them. Hahahahaha…ok it was funny in my head.

Wow…how low can they go? Whatever happened to common courtesy and some semblance of civility? Sheesh! And to think they tacked the 80s with the “Me Generation” label. THIS is definitely what I believe to be the ‘super self-important, entitled to do what I want, anyway I want, screw everyone who isn’t of my mindset, I like to be in your face-about-it’ generation.

Customer service? Where do they get these employees from?
LikeLike
apparently, they need to screen people better before hiring and do a bit more training in what should be obvious but is not to everyone.

Also, clearly people have lost control of their senses to be so rude and in an uproar. Glad the Ceo knew how to calm the masses!
