with my class, discovering a small bit of the world, so huge and all new to them, on a beautiful fall day

The process of scientific discovery is, in effect, a continual flight from wonder. – Albert Einstein

I would call that a mammoth field trip for the students, Beth. But then people would boo at me for the pun. NIce shot, looks like they had fun.

markbialczak,
It does not get any better when someone takes time to use a pun in a comment. I have a guy and we generally do not comment to each other unless it is with use of a pun. Puns Rock and yours was no exception.

Thank for making my day, tomnardone. I cannot avoid punning when the perfect word strikes me, like a lightning bolt.

I liked this but over-analyzed Albert Einstein’s quote. Does he think that science is a “flight from wonder” as not “of wonder?” I think it sounds like he thinks that when you study science you are taking a flight away from wonder. Strange because I am sure he admired both science and the wonder of it! Sorry, I have spent too much time on my “complacent” post I think!
The children’s wonder of all that they viewed in the museum were absolutely special and memorable! They sure like to pose, too!

oh, robin, i thought he meant that everything in this world is a wonder, and science helps to explain some of it, as you try to make sense of it all )
