it seems the older you get, the more life comes into focus. – john c. maxwell

i bought

my car from

and

had to complete

a series

of  ‘tasks’

in two cars

using

two

new

technology/navigation

systems

uh-oh

my two

greatest challenges

1. technology

2. navigation

the whole operation

was run

 by two

very serious

engineer/researcher/designer types

armed with

laptops

data

video cameras

poker faces

said they wouldn’t

complete the tasks

asked of me

all on my own

very challenging

one snapped

pushed a button

to get me out of

what i couldn’t

get out of

the other

actually

laughed

out loud

in response to

one of my moves

and

i loved

that they

broke character

and

they loved

that i was

the perfect subject

to test the limits

had no clue

in this area

her way through

without

doing

too much damage

and

trying everything

to solve

the problems

while laughing

all the way

whichever way that was

and

then i got lost

using my own

navigation system

while trying

to get home.

  1. Do you get a new navigation system out of the deal, Beth? Do you want a new navigation system out the deal, Beth? :-)

You indeed appear perfect for this test. I only wish they had cameras for TV commercial. Great post about the predicaments, yours and theirs, and the way everybody won by being human. One question: Did Soobie the Voice get annoyed with you somehow? Now that would be an interesting new feature!

  2. you always have a fresh angle–and your voice is really developing into something merveilleux. It definitely has the je ne-ce’st quoi.

One thing–and erase this part of comment if you like–did you “lose” a word at “car from….”? I find WP “eats” my end lines a lot….maybe I am mistaken, but wanted to alert you, ksBeth.

Rockin’ post from a rockin’ lady. thumbs hitchiking. :)

  3. I am glad I am not the only technophobe.
i hired an Audi when I flew into the UK. The hire man asked if he could show me the car. I was tired and I said a car is a car. I will be ok.

could I find the slot for the stupid plastic key? Nope so I had to ask.

As he walked away for the second time, I realised the car didn’t appear to have a hand brake. It took me 10 mins of reading the handbook to realise it had a nice hidden button. Uffa

  4. Totally LOVE the way this was written and formatted…moving slowly with the words, allowed us to stay engaged and want to know how it ended. I felt I was in the car with you! And I would certainly test the limits on the navigation.

…and it was cool they broke character….and helped you out of that…and the pic, like it was mentioned before, took the cake!
love, love, love your writing style.
