  1. My editor balked at the use of “yangle” in SINK RATE. I grew up in rural Pennsylvania and heard the word often but agreed to modify it to prevent one of those “speed bumps” for readers. She was trying to be helpful and I did not consider her to be a nibbynose.

  2. Ha! We had a Canadian Prime Minister who was very much loved and flamboyant – Pierre Trudeau. He was controversial but all had to agree he was amusing. He used to love to use the F word and when he was corrected for bad language in our parliament he changed it to “Fuddle-Duddle” That has become an iconic Canadian made-up/swear word.
