OMG Beth! Because ‘Merica. ha! Right up there with deep fried Mars Bars. Whew! I looked it up and I was surprised it only contains 310 calories.

Ha! I had an American railroad trailer – called Piggybacks – that I had picked up in Boston. We were only responsible for the outside of the trailer as it was sealed by the shipper. Some one in central US had loaded 50,000 pounds of Mars bars on a plain van trailer in June – a bad idea. They should have been in a temperature controlled trailer. I was tasked with taking them to Halifax. They went under customs seal from the border to the Halifax customs warehouse. I told customs they were temperature sensitive but they would not expedite the clearance. I had to leave the trailer for two days at customs and they called me when they were ready to clear it, We opened the trailer for an inspection and the sweet smell of melted chocolate was so strong I gagged. The chocolate was literally running out of the boxes and congealing on the floor. I called the delivery customer and told them and they wanted to assess the damage so I took it over to them. It was a write off -$100,000 worth of chocolate bars to the dump.

Looks interesting and I admit I have a love/hate relationship with cheese — just wish it wasn’t so bad..there’s really nothing good about it, besides taste, when you consider how it affects the animals, the planet & your health.
