ABSOLUTELY – now, if we can more people, especially young ones (and maybe a few older ones, too) to go in…βThe man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.β
I love this. At a time when intellectual freedom and tolerance seem more under threat than has been the case for many years these sentiments are very well worth airing
I love this post. All 13 branches of the library in the county where I live, are scheduled to close on April 1 (no joke). Lack of funds is the reason given. Levy on Nov. election ballot failed. This is a historical logging area, when logging (clear-cutting the National Forest) was cut back in the 90’s, County income plummeted. It is hard to say ‘cut a few trees’ because there is no limit to the County Commissioner’s need/greed for funds. Thanks, had to get that off my chest.

Interesting, there’s no sshhh or other warnings against joyful noises. Nice proclamation.

You can find the whole world in a library. You can’t find it in a CEO’s office.

There is an unfounded faith the libraries will be rescued (did we watch too many super-hero shows as a kid?)
