as the snowfall arrives
there is a soft quiet
a world of white outside
while inside
the cottage is filled with color
the center of the snow globe
i’m clearly drawn to whimsical animal art
and yes,
that is the wing of a peacock kite you see in the upper left corner.

What a peaceful post. I love the ‘soft quiet’ of snow. Unfortunately we only get the rattle of rain here but that’s probably why the Irish have such good imaginations. 🙂

I love my connections in this world. I’ve been drawing a snowglobe for 2 days. I would put it in this comment just for you but have never been able to figure out how. But if I use it….I will be using it for you. 🙂

Beautiful poem, Beth, and I love “soft quiet.” It shows that winter has its benefits and nice qualities, too.

A “soft quiet”….yes, yes that perfectly describes it. I can remember a scene in upstate NY that so perfectly meets that description. Thank you for the “trip back in time”…..I love that part of snow…..
