This is so funny, Beth! π€ I get disoriented but my family knows where I always park. . . .it used to be by Sears and is now by the food court entrance. (Shhh-h, bathrooms located there. π)
Oh, I do too! Like the blind leading the blind. Oh, I also loved the Seinfeld episode where they forget what floor of the parking garage they left their car. π
I didn’t know there was a name for this. Thanks for posting. Several years ago someone told me that stores don’t have clocks for this very reason, and I check every so often, and haven’t seen a prominent clock.
Mmmm, casino’s, shopping centers,my child’s school and most recently discovered… the streets of Prague. Thanks Beth I thought it I was just awful at directions, all make sense now.
I did not know this!

I have always felt it’s an alienating experience to spend some time in a mall…

If you ever get to San Diego visit Horton Plaza downtown. It is about 6 levels that will disorient you.

Fascinating! If I’m ever rich enough to build a shopping mall I will call it the Gruen Transfer in your honor. π
