My WordPress is once again acting up, not allowing me to “like” your post…but I do! Let’s hope that things begin to relax safely for us all this month!
This morning — for the first time — I was awakened by some damned bird singing its heart out in the trees outside my window. 5:30. I said, “You don’t have to remind me!!!” 😉
a cheery photo and a lovely poem ; of course, down here, down under, we are in autumn: autumn — or Fall as you so accurately call it over there — has its own challenges — buoyant poems about late autumn are harder to write but I’m working on it 🙂
When I was a kid, we used to have this May Day basket tradition that I don’t hear about anymore. I believe it originated in Europe. We would put a basket of goodies together, leave it on a doorstep, ring the doorbell, and run. I remember that sometimes that person chased after you if they knew who it was. If it was someone you were sweet on, that person gave you a kiss. Seems like a scam to meet girls now that I think about it.😎
Just think, Beth – the Rockies and Tigers are both tied for first on May 1! (They’re also both tied for last, but that’s neither here nor there.) Happy May to you, sister.
I recently grabbed a razor that I dropped in the shower and cut my finger. If only I’d waited to get the shampoo out of my eyes. Some days it’s probably better that I’m shut in!
Beautiful 🌿 Happy May Beth x

Lovely! They say, “April showers bring May flowers!” We have had the rain, so now looking forward to the beautiful flowers.

Thanks for the reminder. With all that is going on, or more precisely not going on, I completely forgot that May Day was today. Enjoy the day!

Violets are a favorite of mine. Such a welcome sight after a winter’s snowy garden.
