  1. Hmm it might be time to work out an apple bounce recipe. A quart of fruit, a fifth of your favorite three finger sauce, and a pound of sweetener aka sugar. Mix and let it age in a cool dark spot with the lid just loose enough to let it breath. No explosive decompression as it ferments please.

  2. For some reason, we have tasted a lot of bad apples this summer season where I live, Beth. And still I hope each lunch time when I pull the supermarket-bought apple from my lunch bag. I hope the local crop is tasty this fall!

  3. I’m ready for apple cider and apple butter! I’d be making apple sauce if I had room to store it! And I think it’s so cool that you are informed of the harvest days for each kind of apple so that you can make certain to get the exact type you want. By the way, great quote!

  4. I’ll have to take a look at the local trees and see how they’re doing! I would eat a honeys crisp apple any day of the week — wait, I do. Some really good apples seems to have vanished — Johnathon and Winesap? I don’t see them anywhere. BUT there was a guy selling apples in my town the first year I lived here from his grandma’s tree in New Mexico. They were old fashioned Johnathon apples, so tart and so good.
