Confusing road signs are not only annoying, they can cause fatal accidents. England’s cities are full of conflicting signage, and you have to have your wits about you on the road.
Best wishes, Pete.
I can see where this is a tad confusing. Now throw in the GPS telling you to make a U-turn and I think we are all set. Maybe we should park and walk from here….
Well, you can’t turn left because the signs ban it, and you can’t turn right because it’s a left turn lane, and you can’t go straight because that would be bad. I don’t see a No U-turn sign!
My quick decision is that the sign on the pole looks newer than the arrow on the road, so I’d follow the NO TURN LEFT directions, Beth and go straight or right. Of course I’m not in my car making a in-traffic choice!
I’m happy to see these ridiculous confusing and conflicting (not to mention dangerous) signs are not just a Quebec thing. Talk about the perfect quote!

plus, we have something called a ‘Michigan left’ which is even crazier

Obviously, you need to switch to a bike and go the bike lane.

not sure that would be safer here, but at least I can always fly over to the grass if needed for a soft landing

And there’s a bike lane on the side so just have to park in the middle of the road

I’m endlessly surprised by signage and a lack of logic behind them

Honestly. I used to have a Hyundai Excel. I parked in a place marked for small cars. Got a ticket. Apparently, not a small car… who knew? So annoying.

A dilemma, for sure. I’m guessing the sign is newer.

Confusing, for sure. But I’d go with the sign. That looks new, the arrow on the street like it belongs in, uh, a vintage shop.

I agree and the most recent is most likely right
