gaggle of giggling gangly teenagers
brimming with unbottled energy
marching down the sidewalk
where are they headed?
do you cross the road?
share the space?
join the group?
think back?
walk by?
smile.

I do remember walking in groups like that, but it was so long ago that it now feels like a dream.
Best wishes, Pete.

The ones around me seem to be headed to the Mall!

That seems to be one of their natural habitats

My wife just dropped two granddaughters off at a Mall. I hope the three of them stay there as long as possible, although that will undoubtedly cost me financially!

I have such happy memories of being in one of those giggling gaggle of girls. So silly. So stupid. But, so fun.

Very clever poem with wonderful alliteration. I used to take an end-of-the-year biking trip across town (5 miles both ways) with my students and parents to a local park for lunch, games, and an award ceremony. That was one long line, particularly with parents in the front and behind, driving their vehicles with their flashers on.

Wonderful poem and it would make me “think back,” for sure.
