curves.

i absolutely love

that when this sidewalk was created

someone noticed the majestic tree

growing for many years

beautiful in its natural place

respected it

and cared enough

to create a sidewalk that curved around it

rather than taking the tree out

to match the straight path that was planned.

‘in life, as in art, the beautiful moves in curves.’

  1. I love that, too.
I am very disconcerted as I don’t know what’s going on Industrial street perpendicular to where I live. They have ripped out all the wild roses and lilacs. I am quite beside myself. The bicycle path remains but maybe they are installing some piping or something; I cannot tell at this point. I’m just verklempt at the loss of the bushes!!

  2. You know what I adore about you, Beth? You see things. Good stuff all around you, including the sweet curve of this sidewalk, thinking about the people who had to make choices and chose well! Making me smile this morning, my friend! 🥰

  3. What a lovely street … so many large shady trees.
We had to have our trees trimmed this past spring and I can hardly bear to look around. Everything changes. We should have been doing it every year or so but is it ever expensive! They all look so crooked and bent over now. Kind of like me. :(

  4. I love this…and reminded me that this is the same town that saved that heart in the sidewalk…right..or am I remembering that wrong? Chris
