From my young life hoeing corn rows, I know how oppressively hot it can be, down between the canes, with no moving air. The boardwalk is a welcome addition – I have to believe the builders knew how to find their way out!

This reminds me of my summers detasseling corn in the heat and humidity of a July day in Minnesota. Except the path was the corn rows.

I love cornfields. The last time I drove through the Midwest, there were cornfields everywhere, and I saw the most interesting things in the cornfields.
