Standard

no one is happy when their internet goes out

but i am always amused

by the list

of my neighbors’ router names

that scroll  by

when trying

to get mine up and running again.

last night’s winners were:

billclinternet

thelanisterssendtheirregards

routerihardlyknewher

some people are so clever

my goal was

to create a name i would remember

now if feel that i’m letting them all down a bit.

not giving back.

  1. The ‘net’ is a case of “hook, line, and sinker” …
It cunningly hooks you in …
And promises you lots of clever lines …
Then in the blink of a ‘LED light’ it sinks into darkness, like the Titanic

  2. I am one of those who can NEVER think of something clever under pressure to set up and get a device working. No creativity at all here. Most of my direct neighbors are pretty boring as well.

  3. For the past three days, our WiFi box is dead…. particularly unhappy for us as HH works two days a week from home. Luckily he bought early on a repeater PLC for the office, which allows us for now to have internet at all. I was fuming, because we pay quite a steep fee per month for our national provider and I find those boxes should last much longer. So the ‚distant cousin‘ syndrome works its magic once more.
Both, in England and France, we could name our routers to our liking. HH wasn‘t interested at all so I had the honour and the fun to create fanciful names for ours. Sadly, this is not possible here with our provider and up to now I still haven‘t managed to even remember the given name for our box….. But I like seeing others (with other providers) using a portion of wit and sarcasm to name their ‚buddies‘.

  4. 😂
    The joys of technology.
Over here in 🇦🇺 they are implementing a misinformation/disinformation bill. Which gives free speech to the Gov, Universities and main stream media on social media platforms, but us citizens won’t get a free pass. 🤬
