Looks like a good deal for the young person. What did you replace it with, Beth?
Best wishes, Pete.

i’ll confirm today and update – yes, a win for us both

We have had our silver-ish 2007 Honda …. for years. We will wear out long before it does.
It probably has lasted so long because we barely drive it anymore.

yes, and i’m sure i’d still have kept sylvia if we didn’t commute together for 218,000 miles (2014)

Bye bye Sylvia. Glad for the new owner, Beth. My Crosstrek, Subie, has given me years and I hope many more. I bet your new ride will do the same as Sylvia!

yes, sylvia was a loyal warrior and took me through 218,000 commuting miles. i need something with a few less miles and will keep you posted

This post caused me to think your previous post, and I wondered how anyone could fit lots of sequoia saplings into a Subaru. The company should use that in a commercial. :)

I think it is a just and happy transaction when Sylvia the silver Subaru ends up in the hands of a sousaphone player, Beth. Good work, there! I look forward to seeing what’s next in your parking spot!

I think I read that wrong. The young Souzaphone player isn’t trying to drive and play the souzaphone all at the same time. Oh dear. Ha, ha, good luck on your new wheels Beth.

I’ve always said that I’m going to pass my Subaru onto my granddaughters. The first one can drive in just 4 years and the car is in great shape for 11 years old so we’ll see…

I have had three Outbacks loved them all but we only get petrol versions on the UK market now so went back across to Toyota – it looks in immaculate condition, how many miles on the clock?

Does that mean the car will turn into a sousaphone now that you said goodbye to it??😅

Oh, she’s a beaut. I know you’ll miss her. I still have my 2011 Subie Forester and expect she’ll outlive me. (Only 22,000 miles, driven by a little old lady to the grocery store and doctor’s office. Honest!)

Keep on running, Sylvia. I get a kick out of seeing my old Pathfinder around town. The lady I sold it to drove like a bat out of hell on our test drive, but I restrained myself from saying anything. She’s passed me a couple of times when I’m walking down the street, still driving the same way.

so funny, and i feel like the sousaphonist may take it easy, but who knows? sylvia is up for any style of driver.

The souzaphone must fit nicely in the back. That’d be a basic criterion.

Always nice when you know the car is going to someone who needs it. That Outback should have just enough room for the sousaphone. Did you get another Subaru?
My Crosstrek already has plans to adopt our 14 year old granddaughter. It only has 143,000 miles on it right now. I am amazed out how reliable the car has been.

Mine had 45K on it when I bought it. Best car decision I have ever made. Only thing I slightly don’t like about my Crosstrek is the lack of trunk space. It’s adequate, but small when traveling.

Mine has 40, and def smaller but I generally travel light

I have travelled with four on extended trips several times, and brought my bicycle with me each time. Mine has a hitch receiver, so I use a hitch mounted bike rack. It could also use one of those hitch mounted carriers. With the little bit of extra ground clearance, the car is perfect for carrying bikes.
