in a big old blue house near me by the river
one of my very first kindergarten students
from way back when
now grown
shares a creative studio
with other local artists
open for an art gallery gathering
so lovely to see their work
to see the artist my former student had become
only a matter of time
his creative eye and natural talent
’twas apparent way back when.

How special to see these people succeed and flourish. These seeds would have been planted years ago by folks like you in their lives. xo

I often wonder about my first students. Some were barely 10 years younger. I taught 5th grade.
My daughter was in 2nd grade where I taught 2nd grade but in another class. So I have seen her classmates grow. And I am so proud of my daughter with her degree in computer science. (little sassy rascal)

Visiting the art studio of a former tiny student is one of the best descriptions of ‘the circle of life’ I can think of.
Best wishes, Pete.

No wonder teachers teach. It’s so much more than the one year they are in you classroom.

that’s it, exactly. and I’ve stayed friends with his family over the years, love his mom, and watched each of the 3 sons, all find their way over time, even with many challenges, big and small, and each in their own way.

So fascinating to hear his talent was apparent in Kindergarten — and that he followed it through! Love this!
