I opened the ‘Christmas Biscuits’ tin just yesterday. (You call them cookies) They are oat and almond with ginger, and very delicious! I still have the chocolate covered Brazil Nuts, the authentic Turkish Delight, and a bag of coconut mushrooms. (Sweet candy mushroom shapes covered in coconut.) My festive supplies will easily last past the end of January. 😊
Best wishes, Pete.

And do remember ginger is good for you. Wards away colds. Brazil nuts are also good for vitamin C and immune system. So as well as having all that you will be safe from colds, etc :) Win Win! [though spellcheck wanted to say “Win wine” which might be more appropriate :)

I ran out of my Christmas red wine on the 2nd of January, Diane. There was no alternative but to buy more last week. 😉🍷

Glad to see you’re not doing Dry January :)

January is such a depressing month, at least one glass of wine each day is a requirement.

I like the idea of curling up in a cocoon — instead of sitting here in the cold posting and reading blogs. I do have my hands around a cup of hot coffee so I will survive.

Thank you for changing the name in this meme before posting it. I prefer that people not know that this is about me.

It sounds a bit like my writing desk. At one point this afternoon, my pile of writing and poetry notepaper was over my keyboard halfway up my monitor screen. 🌏📕📘😍😉

A fantastic quote and idea for spending the rest of January. As you said, it’s tempting to do that for January! (And February. And March.)

I suspect the cartoonist has encountered actual larvae that do exactly that: covering themselves with bits of what’s around to avoid detection. I’ve never seen the same technique applied to humans — I can’t tell you how much I laughed.

So tempting. I have put most of the Christmas chocolate in the freezer because good grief I got a lot. My buns are round enough, thank you very much!
But oh… I would love to hide and just read.

Too late for this year. Wrappings are all gone. But will remember this for next year. Meanwhile, I’ll make do with Amazon boxes. Always a pile of them around.

The journey is always more joyful than the destination. And lazy Januarys hibernating in comfy clothes, warm blankets and a good read or movie are the way to do it!
