in the same day
an good fortune landed in my hand at lunch
with a bit of a dash
later at another restaurant
a table-available beeper was in my hand
with a warning
not the kind of adventure I was looking for
is this my bold adventure?
I thought about it.
would I boldly go on the lam with this?
what would I do with it anyway?
I think there must be something else ahead.
‘do not know yourself. i want to continue to surprise me.’

While the Northside Grill might consider their admonishment to be ‘cute’, to me it would be an incentive to try to steal it, just to show it off!

I’m yet to go to a restaurant that uses ‘menu’ beepers … one day … I’ll be in for a “beeping” surprise!

it’s just a let you know when your table is ready beeper, so you can wander around outside a bit

I don’t quite make out what the stolen item is, Beth, but I’ll infer that you did indeed return it to the Northside Grill when you found it to complete your dashing and bold adventure!

It’s a beeper that lets you know when your table is ready if there is a waitlist. It allows you to wander around outside while you’re waiting and not miss your table.

A table-available beeper is a first for me. It feels like something from a future time I don’t yet exist in.
Best wishes, Pete.

It’s a good thing because it allows you to wander around outside while you’re waiting if the lobby is too crowded or boring

I’m not quite sure what this “thing” is. I have a feeling I should consider myself lucky.

Oh, Beth. Someday I’m going to record my audibles when I read your posts. I can’t quite describe the LOL sounds I make. I think ‘guffaw with delight’ comes closest? Thanks for the smiles, my friend! 🥰😜🥰

This post made me smile. And it reminded me of the time I was pushing a grocery cart to my car, and the grocery cart’s wheels locked. My car was toward the back of the parking lot. I had crossed the “security” line that locked the wheels. Sigh. Thankfully, a store worker saw me and unlocked the wheels. He believed me that I wasn’t trying to steal the grocery cart. Anyhoo, I hope your dashing and bold adventure arrives soon!

Fortune cookies are very amusing. I would ask for another cookie if I did not like the fortune I received. Your fortune was a good one and a sign perhaps of the year ahead!

Those table beepers are great when you have something around to keep you busy until you get buzzed. But that warning is way too funny.

I love those beepers. Great convenience. And the quote … thought-provoking. I’m usually not fond of surprises.
