in the park

on the streets

I feel lucky to be able to say

I’m home again

not everyone can say that tonight.

  1. Great to hear what you did yesterday. Outside of some of the biggest cities, MayDay is very quiet here. It is not a public holiday, so there are very few demonstrations to be found.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. “I’m home again, not everyone can say that tonight.” I love that line Beth, because it sums up my issue with our current state of things so well. I get that we need strong immigration policies. I’m understanding of the need. We have a system of rules and laws. But the folks on the other side, always lose me when they skip over due process and fail to act with any kind of of humanity. The idea of going to work or school and getting scooped up and separated from family . . . I find that unfathomable. Where’s the mercy? Where’s the grace? Where’s the things that make America what it’s been for most of our history? Ugh. Anyway, thank you for sharing. A wonderful, poignant post!
