now that spring is in full bloom  and summer is almost upon us,

take a break from the heat with a refreshing winter story 

the world’s ‘coolest’ pitching contest in frozen Baltic Sea

In Oulu, Finland, an annual winter competition is held in an inlet of the frozen Baltic Sea.

Here, competitors pitch their startup company and business ideas whilst standing inside an ice hole.

  6. OMG – never ever could I do that – but in this week I’ve swum already 3 times in our small lake at temps of 21.7, 21.3 & 22.2°C after the first swim on Pentecost Monday took place in the heated (24°C) olympic pool because the lake only had 17.3°. And THAT was wahaaayyy too cold for this woman!

  14. I’ve walked in snow in my stocking feet in Colorado, but being in the water would be so much more challenging! Kudos to them for inventing a way to get folks to listen to their pitches!
