I saw almost the same thing by our mailboxes on the bed of a truck passenger side just above the tire yesterday. A HUGE gash like that. While many places nearby got some huge hail that would seem not to be the cause. I was so intrigued by what happened.

Looks like fire damage. Interesting you should mention a meteor. I was video chatting with my son and his girlfriend in Boston when a meteor broke apart over the area, creating a sonic boom. The apartment shook. Scary for a few moments as I sat here in Minnesota wondering what was happening, just as they were.

This is interesting. It is stretched, which implies some sort of heat. But the dent on the right side hints that something whacked it or squeezed it, and the plastic popped.

Had a neighbor burn his house down by putting charcoal in the trash can before they were out. They started up late at night & they were lucky to survive.
