smoke on the water.

Standard

evening looking across glen lake

no sand dunes to be seen

perfectly quiet and still

the further north we headed

toward the lake

the more smoke was in the air

canada

 our neighbors to the north

were suffering from big fires

the sunset tried to shine through

it’s sparkles made it to the water

‘flame is very near to smoke.’

    • it does make your eyes burn and it has also been quite hot recently, there is ash falling in some places, and it is hazardous for some to go outside, or only with a strong mask

    • it’s a lot. my daughters who are downstate (where il live), have said that their cities are experiencing it there. no one should be outside without a strong mask at this point. they will probably have to do a very small version of our huge art fair or cancel it early.

  2. I’m sorry you’re dealing with wildfire smoke, too. We cut our vacation in north central Minnesota a day short due to the smoke. It’s still thick and heavy in the area where we were staying. Thankfully here in southern Minnesota the air quality is good this morning.
