while my sister was here
we paid a visit to one of our favorite stores
‘spun’
i’ve written about it before
while i’m not a knitter
my sister is very good at it
we both love the feeling
of being in the store
it’s whimsical and welcoming
the yarns, so beautiful
always a bit of fun and community going on
like their brilliant ‘tour de fleece’ event
for spinners of all kinds
and
i especially love
the tiny baby sweaters.
(warning: sweaters are much tinier than they appear in the photo)
and
there’s a surprise
a tiny baby sheep is in the pocket
shhhh….

i think i’ve said it before, my sis is an ardent knitter and belongs to a knitting circle. they spend more money on materials than it is good for them but they enjoy the being together, keeping their hands busy and re-modelling the world.
i also would dearly love that shop and those tiny jumpers and vests are absolutely adorable!

I love shops like those, and really glad to see one thriving. My mum was an avid knitter, and she would have liked to check out that shop.
Best wishes, Pete.

beat to see individual shops instead of same old, same old chain stores

This is lovely. I love the tiny sweaters ( s sheep in the pocket… how adorable is that?). I am an embroiderer and love needle point but so far I don’t know how to knit. 🧶

I don’t knit, but I think I’d enjoy that store, too. Those little sweaters–so sweet! 💙

Like most on here I don’t knit or even crochet but I do love a good wool shop and often come home with some wool, needles or crochet hook and good intentions to then give said craft stuff to my sister-in-law for Christmas ;) x

Back in the ‘good’ days, my Carole was a ‘spinner’ and knitter, and I’m still wearing some of her knitted articles, Beth
