spinning.

while my sister was here

we paid a visit to one of our favorite stores

‘spun’

i’ve written about it before

while i’m not a knitter

my sister is very good at it

 we both love the feeling

of being in the store

it’s whimsical and welcoming

the yarns, so beautiful

  always a bit of fun and community going on

like their brilliant ‘tour de fleece’ event

for spinners of all kinds

and

i especially love

the tiny baby sweaters.

 

(warning: sweaters are much tinier than they appear in the photo)

and

there’s a surprise

a tiny baby sheep is in the pocket

shhhh….

  1. i think i’ve said it before, my sis is an ardent knitter and belongs to a knitting circle. they spend more money on materials than it is good for them but they enjoy the being together, keeping their hands busy and re-modelling the world.
    i also would dearly love that shop and those tiny jumpers and vests are absolutely adorable!

    • this is wonderful. it is not only that they are talented and can create things, but the social aspect and calming nature are a great bonus. yes, i think you would also love the shop –

  6. Like most on here I don’t knit or even crochet but I do love a good wool shop and often come home with some wool, needles or crochet hook and good intentions to then give said craft stuff to my sister-in-law for Christmas ;) x

  12. I only know the basics of knitting and have asked a friend to teach me how to move forward to more interesting projects – retirement project ;-)
    That said, I love stores like this and would peruse at leisure, even if I don’t know what to do with the yarn!

  13. Love the little sheep in the cardigan pocket. I’ve never progressed beyond basic knit and purl but strangely do love a mooch in a wool shop or leafing through a pile of knitting patterns.

  14. My niece knits daily. Shes a lecturer at a uni here in FL, so I dont know where she finds the time. But it seems to calm her when her minions are going wild.
    I loved the “tour du fleece” sign. Lol.

  32. I thought about learning to knit but tried crochet instead. My great aunt taught all of us girls. I’ve seen some stunning things from the quilters in my group of crafting ladies. I don’t have enough time left to try learning another skill. What a cute name for the race.
