Gonsalves stated that the wonder of life depends on one’s point of view. His paintings suggest that magic is an essential truth of our environment, hidden just beneath the surface of ordinary things.

  1. WOW! Thank you so much for sharing. Though after searching in my local library’s online search I didn’t find a book by Rob but did find one about surrealism with activities so ….. Yes I did order it :)

  2. That’s really very interesting. I like the optical illusion in the paintings. I like the concept of the modern roadway transforming seamlessly to a fleet of ships. Thank you so much for sharing! 👍☺️

  3. How interesting! I love these kinds of optical illusions. I have a book of M. C. Escher’s optical illusions and a woven textile showing birds from one perspective and fish from another. All this strikes me as a window into a deeper sense of reality with all its transformations.

  4. I’ve seen these before and I love them. Brilliant creativity and agreed that the world depends on how we view them. Must be a lot of fun to plan out these illustrations then painting them to life!
