I think you might know more Tagalog than me, Beth! 🤣 I’ll have to add this to my repertoire and impress my relatives. 😊 And my goodness, I thought grown owls weee cute – the babies are even more squish able! 🦉🐣
I was born in the Philippines and am always delighted to come across Tagalog words. This one is perfect. (That second syllable is pronounced gill like a fish gill?)
My son-in-law studied Tagalog because that is his family heritage, although his ancestors came from different parts of the Phillipines and spoke local languages rather than Tagalog. I think they had to learn Tagolog in school, though.
A new word to me, but the baby Owl is delightful! 🦉
Best wishes, Pete.

Oh my…this is so cute. I didn’t know there was a word for that emotion. ‘Gigil’ sounds cute. Wonder if ‘giggle’ is somehow derived from it .

Good I was hoping it was accurate and yes, you can press the relatives now! And you have a word for when you run into something as cute as a baby owl.
