something about finding an old gate
wondering
why is it there
what it opens to
where it leads
could i
see my way through?

No Bouquets
On the twenty-eighth day
The final day to escape Bombay
Leave behind the encroaching doomsday
Break away the padlocked doorways
And seek unknown purified airways
Time to invest wisely in tomorrow’s causeway
Time to invent a new realistic screenplay
That includes the universe’s cabaret
Which comprehends Mother Nature’s ways

I get that attraction. Where will it lead? Should I risk opening it to find out? In most cases I always do just that.
Best wishes, Pete.

A gate can be an extraordinary useful metaphor. It can also be just a gate. :-)

My tendency is to open.. even if it’s trespassing. Lol.
Especially if it’s a random gate in the middle of nowhere.

I find rickety old gates attractive. I don’t necessarily think where they lead to but they catch my attention. Lovely poem, Beth and that quote by Rumi is beautiful.

I love such spots! I always ponder what everything may have looked like in earlier years and what the story was in between.

A lovely intriguing gateway among the brush and trees. I’d love to open that gate and take a stroll
Through what’s back there. I love the Rumi. Quote. Beautiful!
