act 1
pete the cat decides he’d like to sit where olive is sitting
olive is pretending to be asleep
hoping pete the cat will get bored
go sit somewhere else
pete the cat develops a plan
olive is ignoring pete the cat
olive hangs one leg down
to show how deep in sleep she is
olive is in her special spot
that she now won’t move from
act 2
as pete the cat stands up
planning to relocate olive
one way or another
olive suddenly awakens
from her fake deep sleep
quickly swivels to face pete the cat
a spontaneous kung-fu battle ensues
act 3
pete the cat feels
even more emboldened
to make a major move
in a surprise attack
pete the cat takes flight
olive is ready
now taking up
even more of the coveted space
olive takes a stand
like a stone
refusing to budge
even if she has to
get dehydrated and starve to do so
she has not been to her buffet and water fountain
in 30 minutes
olive knows it is so worth it
pete the cat has other plans.
the end.
(a suspenseful dramatic ambiguous ending)

Perfect drama. It would be a huge hit if televised! 🐱🐈⬛

oh, the drama… tension.. suspense… I’d say, let me know when the touring company will be in my area, but as we have 3 theatre guild female felines here (deep sigh) front row seats are mine

Cats provide us with endless amusement, especially when the passive aggression kicks in. 😂 Love the accompanying photos too. When the action gets blurry, you know things are getting serious!

They’re actually both pretty gentle cats, it seems like an epic battle for personal space

We all have to ‘Stand Our Ground’ at some point, no matter how sweet we are. AND remember, kitties are just short tigers. Do you really want to mess with a peeved tiger?

Hilarious! We were watching daughter Delaney’s cats last week and there IS such a pecking order about “prime real estate”. I think I love Olive’s nonchalance with one paw dangling. Almost taunting poor Pete. Thanks for the giggles! 😜❤️😜

That dangling paw is pure tactical genius. It is amazing how much epic drama can happen on a single chair.

Bravo!!!! Wonderful play. The Art of War would be satisfied. I love the picture of the “flight.” A blur of motion, shot like an arrow and the opposing side. LOLOL Love this.
