*news about the cycle of life
saparmurat niyazov, president of turkmenistan, made a decree that divides life into 12-year cycles.
the decree says that childhood lasts until age 12, adolescence to 25, and youthfulness until 37.
the next 12-year cycles are divided into periods labeled – mature, prophetic, inspirational and wise.
old age begins at age 85.
hit 97 and enter a period named for oguzkhan, considered the founder of the turkmen nation, who died at 109.
* this cycle only applies to people in turkmenistan.
(apparently the rest of us are on our own to spin through life’s cycles as best we can.)

this is where it all began
my lifelong love and fascination
with the spy business
in this just-leaked satellite photo from the early 60’s
i was on assignment
and
my cover was
as a seven year old girl
posing casually out front
after a long day spent at the office
i feel quite sure no one suspected.

A. C. from Crest/Washington · 8h ago
Was leaving the house a little after 11 maybe and a large peacock or peahen appeared wandering through the Kenwood backyards heading north.

are you sure it wasnt a turkey?
C. G. from Dexter-Miller · 7h ago
A wild turkey has been seen on the South West Side in the last couple days.
A. C. from Crest/Washington · 5h ago
A friend and I were at the end of the drive way when we saw it come through the spaces between the garages and at first I thought I was really losing it because it looked like a vulture perching and then for a split second I did think it was a turkey but it was gone. I swear sometimes you never know in this neighborhood.

Yes, saw the turkeys last year ( or year before ? ) walking up and around Fair Street near Glendale. I thought there used to be three of them.

Well. I can think of even a few turkeys who think they themselves are peacocks!

when looking at the trees on the kinder playground
it’s easy to see how tall the little people are
the green does not dare begin until it is
above and safely out of the reach of their tiny hands
even if they are standing on tippy toes
pulling, climbing, bending, picking, snapping
the trees do the math and live to tell the tale.
