(sent to me by my eye doctor, i’ve never really considered it before,

but it may be useful one day if i’m in a world championship trivia final)

both thoughtful and wonderful gifts

both ways to mark my days

both things i like

whimsical animals

whimsical heroes

which to choose

easy decision

it’s always good to get a second opinion about what day it is.

think victor hugo would be proud of my skills.

someone at the snack table

noticed something and shared it with others

they all tested it out

made a conclusion

and a perfect decision.

they said that if the carrots made a crunchy sound and snapped

they tasted better and would eat them

if they didn’t, and were bendy

they would donate them to scruffy the guinea pig.

everyone agreed.

a win- win

 a perfect and brilliant solution

and a great life lesson for the future foodies.

playing chicken.

as merely an observer of the event

I’d have to guess

that she when she arrived at the store

 perhaps with the intention

of buying a tea towel

she did not plan to leave

with a giant metal chicken

and may have even worried

that if she did not buy it today

someone else might come along

and find

they too could not live without it

one day longer.

life is funny that way.

it’s a performance activity, like sports or acting.’

grandies j & b make tough decisions.

in the end

it was

the magic collapsable cup and the fairies

that won them over.

both are helpful in emergencies

you never know when you will need them.

brilliant choices.

“you know, in life there are only three or four

fundamental decisions to make.

the rest is just luck.”

penguins running toward each otherhad a little caucus practice

with my class of kinders

to help them

to understand

the process.

they all began by

standing on one side

somewhere in the middle.

we also had two happy monkeys,

curious george on one side

soft cuddly monkey on the other.

each made big promises,

each told

what they would do for the kinders

if they picked them.

each worked

to get the kinders on their side.

one promised

ice cream every day

one promised

3-hour recesses

one promised

no naps

on and on

went the promises.

and the littles

back and forth

back and forth

as they heard

the promises made.

one stood alone

never wavered

knowing what she wanted

and what she believed in

right from the beginning.

no naps.

when it was over

and the rest

had run

back and forth

back and forth,

she was still standing

where she began.

stronger than ever

wide awake.

what to do?

if you are the kind of person who is waiting for the ‘right’ thing to happen,

you might wait for a long time.

It’s like waiting for all the traffic lights to be green for five miles before starting the trip.
