i ran into this cheerful couple while waiting my turn in an insurance office. they seemed well-matched and quite happy. i think i overheard one of them say to the other: ‘You got a past, I do too. We’re perfect for each other.’
We have lasted this long close together, so we must have something going for each other.

yeh, i’ve heard some stuff goes on in the big house. it’s our local aaa office, and they always become part of the tailgate action in their parking lot on game days. may as well embrace it i say )

I had to come back and share a quick story… Shortly after my husband and I were married. My mother in law and I were just getting to know each other. And we had gone to one of those Salad Plantation buffet bars… for decoration, they’d placed a life sized nylon sculpted couple in people clothes by the front door. Now, you have to understand that my mother in law is a psycologist so she is sharp gal and this was 20 years ago so she was still in her fifites and not missing a beat (not that she is now. LOL.) But she whispers to me, totally seriously and says….”Diane, DON’T LOOK NOW but how sad… there’s this couple by the front door with something horribly wrong with them.” I looked over thinking she was playing with me and said …”You’re joking right?” No. She wasn’t! I couldn’t stop laughing… as I told her… Darlened… they are DOLLS!!!!”

I loved the comments and responses to your post! I liked CoastalMom who told one on her mother-in-law’s vision of people instead of dolls. I enjoyed Mark’s talk about the couple on their anniversary and their date, poor Minnie, she would be satisfied with anything, I fear!
