  1. I think I saw a movie with great dancing in it, directed by John Tarantismtino? What was it? Oh, yes, “Pulp Fiction.” Happy May Day, my friend Beth. Great things to come.

  2. Your word, which I’d never heard, did bring to mind the tarantella dance, which I had heard of. Related, apparently. Anyway, yes, Happy May Day to all.

  3. so did you get up early this morning and wash your face in the dew?

celtic lore held that the morning dew on 1st May had magical properties and that if you washed your face in it you would have a flawless complexion

in my home town of Edinburgh, even today, people still climb Arthur Seat (the extinct volcano in the centre of the city) to wash their faces in the dew

  4. Yes, I believe the Tarantella, a lively Italian folk dance, comes from the legend of being bitten by a spider and dancing in a frenzy until death from the venom. I didn’t look this up, just going from memory, and it could be way off. I would dance the Tarantella, the Boogaloo, Hully Gully, anything, for 24 hours straight if it would stop raining in Central New York. May Day indeed. Hmmmph.
