out on a hike around the lake with the kinders,
and a is walking back with c, close by her side.
a tells me, ‘he says he wants to marry me.’
i ask, ‘do you want to marry him?’
a says, ‘yes.’
then a says to c,
‘and i will always sleep when you sleep.
and we could go to the park together.
and we can get ice cream.’
c says, ‘okay.’
as we all walk on, i think about how wise a is with regard to marriage.
if we always sleep when the other sleeps, go to the park together, and get ice cream,
we might have many happy marriages.

I am in love with A and C, how absolutely gorgeous, you need to save all these kindy moments or what each child says and present a little book at the end of the year….time allowing that is. How much joy would the parents get. You are so lucky Beth to eaves drop on such beautiful conversations :-) xx

So adorable- the things these kids say and how lucky you are to hear it! Love the monkeys– I have an old one of mine that has had a few gender changes over the years to suit various children.

That is so cute. I think A and C have it nailed. Oh, one more thing Beth – I’m surprised you had them out on loan and didn’t manage to put them into anything, like a canoe or a paddle boat or a cart or a wagon. Ha! I bet you did and were too shy to mention it.

If life were only so simple! I love the idea of the children thinking of marriage as such. I hope for their sakes, all will go ‘happily ever after!’ Beth, this was so sweet and magical! Just the way to bring smiles to my day!

I agree. Too many newly-married couples think they can still go their separate ways and it will have no effect on their marriage. Sad. Before getting married, they wanted to spend their lives together. After the event, they can’t wait to be alone. Weird.
