went to the gym

on what

had to be

the most

hopeful day

of the entire year

january first

new year’s day

first day

of resolutions kept

the energy palpable

 electricity in the air

and sweat

and

postive thinking

and vim

our own

each of us

believed

hope is a waking dream.

  2. I enjoyed your poem! I think the decision to exercise is probably the number one or among the top resolutions each year. I know it is always mine, which tells you that it didn’t last from the year before.
