took a ride on the q line train
in detroit city
on it’s inaugural weekend
so full of happy people
got off at campus martius
a downtown oasis
sat on the beach
created right in the middle of the city
for outdoor summer adventures
enjoyed wonderful cuban jazz
live and in color
plus a little guy who couldn’t resist sitting in with the band
a natural improv artist of the highest order
the energy in the city was contagious.

Glad you had an enjoyable Mother’s Day weekend. Detroit has many stories to share. It’s great to see new railroad activity doing well.

What a great celebration. We are flying through Detroit for a wedding next month in Ohio. Would you be so kind to recommend a couple of places we should see as we are driving about?

lots of things to see and do, depends on your time and mood. for sure go to campus martius and the beach there – live music too, the riverfront area is nice by the gm building, the motown museum, many great restaurants – punch bowl social, central kitchen, townhouse, (all central), go in the fisher building and look up – amazing architecture, detroit tigers game …

My husband wants to see Motown, and the lake. That would be great for him.
I have a cousin who grew up in Ann Arbor, but she’s in Ca now. Such a great town.

Love it! I live very close to Detroit, but haven’t ridden the train yet. I think that the city is really turning a corner, and I’m so happy about it. Did you eat anywhere special?

I meant that to be two separate statements. The tulips are probably not inherently fun, but who knows what craziness they get into when no one is watching.
